My still life paintings stop time.

I am hellbent on innovating the still life tradition so it reflects our LED-lighted 21st century. When I render commonplace items—bubble wrap, Post-its, paper coffee cups, Ziplock bags—in traditional oil paint, there’s irony. Look deeper and find beauty there and a bit of ecological anxiety.

When viewers look over the overlooked items around them as I’ve rendered them, I hope they reconsider how our lives look now.
